ABOUT CLIENT
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers provides a platform for engineers to access resources, standards, training, and publications across mechanical engineering and related fields.
NEED
ASME launched a digital transformation initiative to modernize operations and replace legacy systems, including its existing product information management (PIM) and order entry platforms. Achieving that meant a single Salesforce solution covering CRM, Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ), order management, billing, and commerce, so that quote-to-cash and digital commerce ran on one platform rather than several that did not connect.
APPROACH
CloudMasonry delivered across five Salesforce clouds, connecting commerce, revenue, and product management rather than modernizing each in isolation.
- Implemented Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud, rebuilding the user experience and checkout flow.
- Integrated Salesforce Billing and CPQ with third-party Avalara and payment systems for transaction management.
- Customized Salesforce for product information management workflows, replacing the legacy PIM system.
- Tailored order management to support advanced revenue recognition.
- Used third-party Workato to integrate critical operations across the wider system landscape.
ASME replaced its legacy PIM and order entry systems with a unified platform covering product management, billing, receivables, and digital commerce. Business processes that previously spanned disconnected systems now run in one place, with better data accuracy behind them.
- Legacy PIM and order entry systems retired in favor of a single platform.
- Product management, billing, receivables, and digital commerce connected end to end.
- Improved data accuracy across processes that previously spanned separate systems.
- A rebuilt checkout and user experience for the engineers and organizations ASME serves.
- A foundation built to support continued digital growth rather than the immediate replacement.
