NEED
California Manufacturing Technology Consulting® (CMTC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that delivers a broad array of technical, consulting, and workforce development services to small and medium-sized manufacturers in California. Some of CMTC’s training initiatives are funded by the state. Unfortunately, the AccessDB CMTC was utilizing that stored course sessions, budget allotment, trainers, attendance, etc., that were required to be tracked by California state systems was consistently crashing and needed to be replaced.
APPROACH
CloudMasonry helped migrate the AccessDB into Salesforce so CMTC could have a single system of record. We first rebuilt the existing AccessDB data model into Salesforce based on what was currently being tracked. We then went through a data exercise of consolidating what was stored in the AccessDB and currently tracked within the state’s systems and migrated that into the Salesforce platform. Additional UI/UX development was also completed to provide a seamless UI to track attendance.
OUTCOME
By going through this implementation, CMTC ultimately lowered long-term maintenance costs between AccessDB and Salesforce. The system is also now set up in a capacity where CMTC can prevent situations where a delay in course registration, when the AccessDB would fail, resulted in funding delays from the State of California.
