ABOUT CLIENT

Consumer Affiars is a rapidly growing online marketplace where each month millions of consumers research purchases, connect with brands, transact, write reviews, and stay up to date on important consumer news.


NEED

Consumer Affairs (CA) works in many different systems and has goals of consolidating and making Salesforce their source of truth for their data. The main objective of this engagement was to migrate a Google sheet repository that housed their pricing data into Salesforce to make quoting more streamlined. Their security model and page layouts were also over-engineered and required clean-up to provide a more streamlined UX for their teams.


APPROACH

We began by translating the google sheet that held all of the CA pricing data into a data model within Salesforce. Once that was in place, we worked with the CA team on a data exercise that involved migrating their existing pricing records and tying them to the appropriate associated records within Salesforce. We also identified areas where we could automate and streamline the business process and build Flows for applicable situations. The standard lead conversion process was broken, and we rectified the issues by satisfying the lead lifecycle processes by bringing CA back to baseline Salesforce functionality. Finally, we undertook an exercise of identifying various user personas and built/updated profiles and page layouts to consolidate and decrease potential long-term admin requirements.


OUTCOME

We eliminated the need for their Google sheet to track contracts and details, and all the information (current and historical) now resides in Salesforce as their source of truth for better client insight and analysis. Overall, Consumer Affairs was very satisfied by our work in the aforementioned engagement and has continued to leverage us in an ongoing Managed Services capacity.
